What does Penguin do?

Penguin is an algorithm that deals with people trying to subterfuge the search engine results through methods commonly known as Black Hat SEO, which is another way of saying “cheating.”
People who try to subterfuge their way to Page One will try, for example, to pay a service to link to their website on many other websites that then link back to the main one. Generally speaking, the more links a website has, the more it’s considered an authority on the subject a person is searching for.

When you work with a legitimate SEO company to build quality links they work within Google standards and help boost your ranking in the Google’s search results. But when Black Hats buy false links (links that were not created by people who legitimately want to point out the value of a website) Penguin penalises the website by either switching it off or drastically dropping it down the ranks. For example if it was on page one then it would drop down to page 15, position 153.

Keep calm and continue to create quality
